This particular blog is geared more towards the “political junky” types. Those who get up in the morning like me, and read whatever political article you can get your hands on. I think reflection is something that is really important to do at the close of a year. Personal reflection is key in order to press yourself to grow into the person you were called to be. I also think reflecting on what has been learned over the course of the past year enables one to not make the same mistakes over again. I was part of two campaigns this last year. I served as the Communications Director in a US Senate Race that was lost in the Primary, and was also a state CO Chair for Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign, focusing on millennials and women.

This year I learned a ton. I learned what to do again and what to NOT do ever again. Countless reflecting and numerous observations have been made, but for the sake of time I have narrowed my observations down to FIVE. The obvious observation, which could go without noting is that a National race is totally different than a Primary Race and the people that vote in General Elections often don’t vote in Primaries. The ultimate goal though is to WIN the General. I am learning how to win, and I love the strategy involved in winning. So, here’s what I learned this last year:

1. The “most Conservative” is overplayed and it won’t win a General Election.

My biggest observation while serving on the US Senate race was the candidate that throws out the most “Conservative red meat” will most likely win the Primary, but they have little shot in a General Election. Primary voters are your engaged politicos. They hob nob with one another. They attend the same banquets, dinners, fund raisers and party events. They all know each other and they all know who will be tapped next among them to run for office. These “politcos” though are generally out of touch with the vast majority of the population. Unfortunately Primary voters don’t take into account a candidate’s ability to fund-raise, debate, or their personal background in fixing the messes we witness in government. Fancy one liners & slogans appeal to the base, but not the general public. Though the Primary voting base would be considered your “more informed” voter, they are not informed on repairing the complete train wreck we have in government. If so, qualifications in fixing the mess would be of utmost importance. What qualifies someone to hold office? Holding titles or actual real tangible success in the private sector?

2. The winner in a Primary often has to walk back what they professed in the Primary, but this doesn’t work anymore.

As mentioned above, lots of one liners and Conservative “red meat” verbiage is spewed to entice the Primary voting base. This stuff doesn’t fly in a General. For example, a candidate who won a Primary race in the last election cycle but did not win in the General is quoted saying “no background checks for anyone” in regards to gun laws, later they tried to reword this statement, but it had already been said. Now to your hard line Conservative, “no background checks” resonates to some, but your Independent voter finds this statement asinine. With trackers (opponent operatives), cell phones that can capture anything and social media everything said IS CAPTURED, a walk back is shooting yourself in the foot. Consistency is key, if you are not consistent you lose trust. No trust, no vote. Want to win, stay consistent from start to finish with messaging, no pandering.

3. DC strategists are totally overrated in a State Wide Race and a complete waste of money.

Yes, strategists are needed in a National Presidential Campaign, but I have found they are useless in state races. Why? They have no idea what is happening on the ground and they are making calls they have no business making. Many strategists live in DC, completely disconnected from what is happening in each state (similar to most politicians). What worked in one state does not work in another. The voting base in each state is unique and must be catered to on a unique level. Strategists are important, but my advisement to a win, is to get counsel from one LIVING in the state that the race is taking place in.

4. Endorsements mean everything and nothing.

This one is totally finicky because in this past Presidential Race, Trump had little to NO endorsements and everyone and their mom was endorsing Hillary. Trump literally broke all the rules with this one. The vast majority of Americans didn’t care about endorsements AT ALL in this Presidential Election cycle. It was the world vs Trump and Trump won.

On a state level, in a Primary, YES endorsements mean so much! I learned that those who endorse candidates often NEVER meet the candidate they are endorsing. Endorsements are more of a you scratch my back I’ll scratch your back agreement, basically -another form of lobbying. Endorsements from within the state, don’t hold near as much weight as endorsements from a Nationally known individual. This whole endorsements element reminds me of Hollywood, where I lived for years. You can get the A list actor, or the B list actor- same with endorsements in the political world. It doesn’t matter if you have people who have known you for 30 years and can testify to your character, if your opponent gets a big “political star” name, you’re outta luck. Want to win, get big name backing.

5. There IS a Silent Majority and they are smarter than you think.

There is a Silent Majority and they were awakened this past election cycle, the question is will they stay awake? The vast majority of the American people are DONE with politicians. They desire someone that has succeeded in the private sector. It’s one thing to state where you stand on policy issues pertaining to job creation, but it’s whole other thing to actually have created jobs. It’s one thing to be a small business owner, it’s a whole other thing to be an employer to many individuals who depend on you for their livelihood. Though a great speaker, Obama’s Community Organizing and One Term Senate experience revealed how little he knew about fixing anything and we the people suffered from this over the course of the last eight years. If Trump succeeds, the bar will be raised. His private sector success will be testimony that we need more people in government with private sector success.The credentials of “career politician” may be a thing of the past. For this, we must wait and see……

It was not the Russians

It’s weeks before you are about to make one of the biggest decisions in your life, your wedding. You are nervous, scared, excited and ready to seal the deal! You go out to your mailbox and find an anonymous letter with a zip drive inside. The letter reads “enclosed is the truth, you need to know the truth before you make your choice.” Puzzled and curious, you go inside and insert the zip drive into your lap top. Your mouth drops open….no, this can’t be true….you are watching your fiance totally making-out with someone else! What the hell right!? Wow! To be sure this is current you observe the footage-your fiance is wearing the coat you bought them just a few weeks back. Omg! Your heart breaks, you feel angry, frustrated, betrayed…….

You are not angry though at the anonymous person that provided you the information. You are angry at the person you thought you knew! The person you trusted. The person that portrayed them-self to be something they were NOT!

Today, James Comey, the Director of the FBI….yes, the guy that said Hillary did nothing wrong by destroying subpoenaed evidence, yep that guy-well he has now agreed with the CIA that the Russians were involved in helping Trump win the election.

First off, I still don’t buy it. I think this whole thing is a way to de-legitimize Trump’s win. The Guy crushed it with the Electoral college and when you win the Electoral college YOU WIN the Election. There is a process in play to de-legitimize the President-Elect -we’ve witnessed a series of events. First we witnessed rioting in the streets. Millennials couldn’t cope, they needed blankets and cocoa and play-doh to work through Trump’s traumatizing win. Second we saw the desperate need for recounts. With every re-count that took place Trump gained MORE votes! The next move was to go after the Electors in the Electoral College. Threaten their lives, get Hollywood to put out a desperate plea about voting ones conscience and how important the Constitution is (yes, the Constitution that Obama stomped all over the last eight years). And Now it’s the Russians! The Russians did it! It’s their fault Hillary lost!

But you see…..WE Deplorables aren’t that stupid!!! Even if the Russians were involved….We are SMART enough to KNOW where to direct our anger and it’s not at the Russians! Truth was exposed. Truth. All the Russians did (IF they did anything) was expose the truth. The dark, ugly, emails of the DNC and John Podesta that enlightened us to what REALLY IS GOING ON! Wikileaks has NEVER been wrong, ever. So it’s a reliable source…..I mean most newspapers and networks have to apologize several times throughout the year for incorrect facts or mishaps in reporting- not Wikileaks- it’s always has been accurate and factual in exposing the truth, and has actually fulfilled the sorely lacking role of “Investigative Journalist.”

The media and the current Administration want us to be MAD at the Russians! How dare they!? Ughhhhh! They also want us to think that Trump’s win was not rightfully won, oh but it was. It was more rightly won than ever, because voters showed up to the polls more informed with the truth than ever before. Americans saw the dark demons that were desperately trying to be shoved back into the closet….but it was too late….we saw them.

We now know truth. Once you know the truth your can’t go back. You can only go forward and that’s what Americans did…..they wanted to clean house and yes, Drain the Swamp.

It was not the Russians that deleted 30,000 emails. It was not the Russians that paid to incite riots at Trump’s rallies. It was not the Russians that had staff dabbling in witchcraft and spirit cooking. It was not the Russians that rigged the Democratic Primary. It was not the Russians that destroyed subpoenaed evidence with hammers. It was not the Russians that ran a slush fund to get filthy rich off of pay for play activities as Secretary of State. It was not the Russians that lied under oath. It was not the Russians that campaigned with a 10th of the energy of their opponent. It was not the Russians that called half of Americans “Deplorable” and “Irredeemable.” It was not the Russians who’s whole campaign mantra was a repeat of the last eight years.

No. It wasn’t the Russians that caused Hillary to lose.

It was informed Middle Class hard working Americans that caused Hillary to lose.

We showed up to the polls and we were armed with the truth.

No Madonna it wasn’t because of “hate” that Trump won.

I keep seeing pictures of dumbfounded Madonna in regards to Trump’s win on my news-feed. She is shocked Trump won, along with a slew of other Hollywood Elitists. Madonna has simply concluded the reason why Trump won is because “women hate women.” Yep. That’s why Trump won in her world. Other Elitists believe Trump won because the people that voted for him are racists, bigots, misogynists, rednecks, xenophobes…..and so forth. Which is odd to me, be it that many of the same people that voted for Obama in 2008 and in 2012 turned and voted for Trump in 2016. How can those people be “racist bigots” if they voted for the 1st Black President just years ago? Hmmm…..

What blows my mind is these disconnected, out of touch Celebrities….STILL don’t get it. I lived in Hollywood for years. I worked for these people, I even lived in their homes and I will tell you -they are CLUELESS. They don’t live like us and they certainly don’t think like us (I even shot a video on this topic). The things we do on a daily basis like grocery shop, pick our kids up from school, clean our houses, walk our dogs and so forth is foreign to them. That’s why it fascinates me that every four years they crawl out of their little cocoons and dictate who we should vote for or what to vote for. It obviously didn’t go their way this time and they are throwing embarrassing tantrums!

Over the course of the last few weeks we have watched the Mainstream Media continue their berating of now President-Elect Trump. They have encountered no “come to Jesus” moment. Instead of jumping off the hamster wheel of bias, they are spinning even faster. With every spin, more and more Americans are waking up from their skewed news comas. In the latest George Washington University battleground poll, 45% of voters say they have a positive opinion of the president-elect, up 9 points from mid-October’s poll.

Hollywood and and the Main Stream Media are best friends and they live by the same code of vanity. The “Material Girl” …..really is a material girl. No substance. Nothing deeper than what is readily visual. “Women hate Women,” it must be that. No diving into the issues, no dissecting the elements, no questioning the opposition….just the baseless conclusion that “Women hate Women.” The shallowness nature of this hypothesis is why Trump won. For these Elitists to think that we vote on Race and Gender as our guide on WHO runs our country is down right insulting! The assumption that I don’t think deeper on the issues at hand is offensive. I don’t care what color an individuals skin is, nor am I concerned with what genitals are between their legs! I vote on policy.

So no Madonna, Trump did not win because “women hate women.” Trump won because women voted on the ISSUES at hand.
Women voted for lower taxes.
Women voted for Securing our Borders.
Women voted for the ability to choose where their kids go to school.
Women voted for the protection of life in the womb.
Women voted for less government regulation.
Women voted for sensible tax reform.
Women voted for the repealing & replacing of Obamacare.
Women voted for Supreme Court Justices that will not create laws but simply interpret the law.
Women voted for Free Market Capitalism.
Women voted for the ability to protect themselves & their families in utilizing their 2nd Amendment Rights.
Women voted for keeping American manufacturing companies in the U.S.

Women voted for an end to the Trans Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement.

Women voted for putting our Veterans FIRST.

Women voted for the negotiation of fair trade deals that benefit Americans.
Women voted for the end of radical Islamic terrorism.
Women voted for Religious Liberty.

And It’s “we” women who are soooo over Hollywood Elitists thinking they know what’s best for Middle Class America.

No hate was involved in our vote Madonna.

We voted with our intellect and that’s why Trump won.

We have heard a lot of names discussed, but who has made the cut? Below is a list of Trump’s Cabinet picks so far:

Counselor to the President: Steve Bannon

Bannon age 63, born in Norfolk Virginia to an Irish Catholic Democrat family is set to be the chief counselor to President Trump. He holds degrees from Harvard, Georgetown, and Virginia Tech. Bannon has been an officer in the Navy, Investment Banker, Producer and one of the founding members of Conservative News Media Outlet- Breitbart News. Liberals are calling Bannon an “alt right” Anti Semite, because they think Breitbart News has published anti-sematic commentary, which is just ridiculous! So ridiculous that Jewish Democrat Alan Dershowitz, is defending Bannon- you can read that here.

Chief of Staff: Reince Preibus

Reince is the Chairman of the Republican Party who has now been tapped as Trump’s Chief of Staff. He is 44 years old, a lawyer from New Jersey. Many complained that Preibus was picked because he’s “Establishment.” I see it differently. When the Establishment slammed Trump, refused to stand with him-like Bush and Kasich who refused to keep their promise in supporting the Republican Nominee- Preibus backed Trump. He was loyal to Trump and loyalty speaks volumes in D.C. If Preibus doesn’t stay loyal- we’ll see a “you’re fired.”

Defense Secretary: Four Star Marine General “Mad Dog” Mattis

James N. Mattis, is 66 years old from Pulman, WA. He is a retired four star United States Marine Corps general. He last served as the 11th commander of United States Central Command from August 11, 2010 to March 22, 2013. Mattis has served in the Gulf war, Afghanistan, the 2003 Invasion of Iraq and the 1st and 2nd battles in Fallujah. Mattis has repeatedly criticized the current administration’s total lack of strategy in the Middle East. Huh….makes sense to me. To every radical terrorist out there, Mattis is your worst nightmare!

Attorney General: Jeff Sessions

Jeff Sessions, the strong Constitutional Conservative Senator from Alabama was one of the first, if not the first to throw his weight behind Trump. The 69 year old was Attorney General of Alabama, and has held his Senate seat since 1997.

Like always, the Left is calling Sessions a racist…..because that’s what they do. 30 years ago, Sessions was accused of calling an African American, who was an assistant to Sessions while he was Attorney General, “boy” numerous times. The accuser also said that Sessions said the KKK was “okay.” If this is true, it’s not okay, but people change over the course of 30 years and the South has changed over the course of the last 30 years.

In contrary though, Politico reports:

“…[Sessions] filed several desegregation lawsuits while he was U.S. attorney for the Southern district of Alabama and voted in favor of the extension of the Voting Rights Act in 2006.

Also noted was that Sessions’ vote to confirm President Barack Obama’s nomination in 2009 of the first African-American attorney general, Eric Holder.”

CIA Director: Mike Pompeo

Pompeo, a Congressman from Kansas’s 4th District, who was first elected in 2010. Pompeo serves on the Energy and Commerce and House Intelligence committees, and he also served on the House Select Benghazi Committee. Benghazi NEEEDED a voice and the guys on this committee provided that. Pompeo was a CEO/founder of an aerospace company and an oil field company. He graduated first in his class at West Point.

Commerce Secretary: Wilbur Ross

Ross, who is 79 years old, is a billionaire and chairman of WL Ross & Co., an investment firm that specializes in corporate restructurings. In short, a very very successful businessman. Anyone that makes a billion dollars knows more than I do. The job here is to create jobs, improve American’s quality of life, and encourage sustainable development, Ross was beyond successful at this in the private sector and I think he’ll serve great in the public sector.

Transportation Secretary: Elaine Chao

Elaine Chao- 63 years old born in Taiwan and married to Mitch McConnel. She served under President George W. Bush too, as Secretary of Labor. She is also the first Asian-American woman to ever hold a Cabinet-level position. She was the only cabinet member to serve the whole time Bush was president. Lots are arguing that she is part of the swamp that needs to be drained. I really don’t hold an opinion on her. I am no fan at all of McConnel, perhaps this is a way to get Mitch to work with Trump??? We’ll see…..

Health and Human Services Secretary: Tom Price

Tom Price 62 years old from the Atlanta, Georgia. He is in his 5th term as a Congressman and is the chairman of the House Budget Committee. He’s a huge anti Obamacare guy, which makes him a brilliant choice! My family is paying INSANE amounts of money for Health Insurance right now, and it’s painful! Price believes in expanding Health Savings Accounts and allowing tax cuts on purchasing healthcare. He’s also an Orthopedic Surgeon who supported Trump from the start.

Treasury Secretary: Steven Mnuchin

One of the most recent picks is 53 year old Steven Mnuchin. Mnuchin is a banker, producer and campaign fundraiser. He is a former partner at Goldman Sachs and a wealthy guy, worth over 40 million. I have heard mixed feelings on this one. Obviously he’ll be a target from the likes of Bernie Sander’s and Elizabeth Warren who are anti Wall Street. If the guy can help get the economy moving again and chip away at the 19 Trillion in debt we face as a nation, I say have at it…..

Education Secretary: Betsy DeVos

Trump picked 58 year old billionaire, businesswoman, education activist and philanthropist Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education, who is from Holland Michigan. She is s huge School Choice advocate! I love that she is a strong supporter of School Choice, however she is close with the Bush family who support Common Core- which I despise! I don’t know her personal views on Common Core and I am sure we will see them unfold as time goes on. Regardless of where she stands, I will continue my opposition to Common Core and its money making test based curriculum.

National Security Adviser: Lieutenant General Michael Flynn

Flynn who is 58 years old from Rhode Island is a lifelong Democrat. He is a retired Lieutenant General after serving 33 year in the Army. Flynn is also the former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency. His service also included being the commander of the Joint Functional Component Command for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, chair of the Military Intelligence Board, Assistant Director of National Intelligence, and the senior intelligence officer for the Joint Special Operations Command. Lots of Intelligence 😉 but also a ton of experience. I think Flynn is a great pick, he was also considered as Trump’s VP pick for a while but Trump went with Pence-which was the right move.

So there you have it…..now, who’s going to be Secretary of State is the BIG pending question at the moment….

How did Trump win?

I have been fairly quiet since the election results on Tuesday, which came as a shock to many receiving their news from the main stream media. I have watched people I really kinda liked, throw total fits. I have witnessed name calling of those who voted for Trump-morons, fu@%ing idiots and so forth. I have been un-followed and unfriended. #NotMyPresident a trending hashtag on Twitter. We are now witnessing the tolerance of the left on full display as they riot in the streets, beat up Trump supporters, and burn the American Flag. We are seeing petitioning to overthrow the Electoral College, we are watching millennials have complete emotional breakdowns unable to take midterm exams because they are convinced America just elected Hitler. I am seeing the horrible side of humanity right now, a side I want to un-see.

The media got it wrong, Hollywood got it wrong, and the polls got it wrong. Hillary was supposed to win this thing in a landslide. Throughout this election I witnessed an insanely biased media. I observed poll samplings always weighted heavily on democrats. I watched the entertainment industry mock Trump at every chance they got.

It was Trump vs. The world, and Trump won.

How?

How did this happen? Why did this happen?

Most don’t want to know why, they are just angry and want to stay angry. If you really want to know, I’ll tell you.

The left nominated a corrupt elitist.

An elitist that was under FBI investigation and will most likely still need to receive a pardon in order to not go to JAIL. I have been screaming this from the rooftops in blog after blog. The media, who has gotten EVERYTHING WRONG, portrayed HILLARY WRONG.

Ignoring all the red flags, the media focused heavily on the fact that we could have a WOMAN PRESIDENT. That the highest of all glass ceilings would be broken. Disregarding the life of scandal and corruption that Hillary has led. I get you don’t want to hear that, but it’s the truth. If you have to lie under oath, allow FOUR Americans to die in Benghazi, Rig your own Primary, break the law by destroying subpoenaed evidence with hammers, Delete 33,000 emails that BELONG to WE the American People, cheat by receiving Presidential debate questions early, Incite Riots at your opponents Rallies, Run a slush fund to get filthy rich in your pay for play activities as Secretary of State……..you are corrupt. Plain and simple. There is just no other way to lay it out.

No accomplishment in women’s rights was going to be made here, and the American people knew this. I as a woman would love to see a woman president, but I want to vote for a woman that I know got there the right way. America wasn’t voting on gender this election cycle, they were voting on NEED. Many of those angered by Trump’s win, don’t understand the needs of Americans right now. They are living comfortably, able to take yearly vacations and are not really stretched financially. But for most of America right now, the struggle is REAL. Americans were willing to be called racists, misogynists, bigots, etc in order to see real change. They were willing to endure the ridicule and hatred spewed by the left in order to alleviate their families everyday burdens.

Trump spoke right to the heart of America. He spoke to those living paycheck to paycheck. He spoke to those who have been hit hard by Obamacare. He spoke to the men and women who haven’t seen a raise in years, years! He spoke to the single moms and single dads straining to pay the bills each month. He spoke to the silent majority of Americans. Hillary instead courted Hollywood. Hillary banked on Jay-Z, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga to thrust her into her coronation. But the AMERICAN people can’t relate to these celebs. These entertainers are also part of Hillary’s elite class. They have no idea what a gallon of milk or a gallon of gas costs. These people are millionaires who hang out with millionaires….they don’t know the pains of everyday Americans.

Besides investing in Hollywood, Hillary’s campaign played the same card played every election cycle. The tactic of calling someone “racist, misogynist, bigots, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamophobic” if they disagree with you. No room for discussion just name call to shut down all dialogue. Only this time Americans saw this tactic from a mile away and did not fall in line. Why? Because if you know you are not any of these horrible things mentioned, it doesn’t stick. You sluff it off and keep moving on, and that’s what Americans did. They trudged on through the name calling, persecution, ridicule, slander and elected a guy that wants to clean house in DC. A guy that is not taking a salary while he is President. A guy that is NOT a politician, a guy that wants to pass Term Limits, a guy for the people and not the big donors and special interests groups. A guy that wants to Make America Great Again.

Is Trump perfect? No. Does he have faults? Yes. But we knew we weren’t electing a “best friend,” we were electing someone that was going to make some real changes! Changes that HAVE TO BE MADE.

To every individual out there angry, upset, and outraged by Trump’s election…..I say give him a chance. The media told you how wrong Trump was for America…..but the media has yet to get the Truth right.
