Election Day!

Election Day!!!
This day has always been a huge day to me ever since I was a kid! I remember being little and watching my mom and dad pace back and forth in our living room in the late evening as the votes came in on the TV and thinking –yes….I get to stay up past bedtime!

I am so incredibly thankful that we live in a country where we get to vote!

Before taking this awesome privilege we have for granted, we have to remember that not every country has this right! Below is a list of the countries that do not have the right to vote:

Bahrain, Bhutan, Brunei, Fiji, Jordan, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Morocco, Myanmar, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tonga, United Arab Emirates…..and then of course there’s Cuba and Venezuela-where voting is merely a “show.”

So whether your feet hurt from standing in a long long line this morning or perhaps when you find yourself waiting in an insanely long line tonight….remember that men fought, bled and died to afford you this luxury. It is a privilege and honor to cast that bid!

So get out there….and VOTE!

Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting.
Franklin D. Roosevelt
