If you had an unlimited amount of time to get something done…would you be in any hurry to do it?

After witnessing first hand- with my father’s run for Congress-the power of the “career politician” and their ability to withhold there incumbency, regardless of their leadership or performance, I have become a strong advocate for Term Limits.

Term Limits crosses political parties and affiliations….it is simply this: Limiting the time our elected Congress men and women can serve in office. Basically putting a time limit on how long they are able to spend in Washington.

“But our Congressman is doing great, he votes just the way I’d want him to.” That’s wonderful, BUT there are other “great” men and women that are able to serve and bring fresh ideas and concepts to the table. If we don’t put NEW people in DC, than we will continue to get the same results. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insanity! Just look at our current divided congress…we’ve got two parties at war against each other…neither willing to compromise because all the Congressmen there are voting how they are “supposed to” vote so that they are re-elected. They no longer think in terms of the right thing to do, but rather what actions they will need to take to get reelected, regardless of what’s right for the country. They think….if “I just vote the “party line” than my district or state will re-elect me and I get to stay here with all the perks!”

Congress currently has a 21% approval rating and yet Incumbents (current congressman/women) have an over 90% chance of being re-elected. Geeeez….if my husband knew that he could perform at work with a grade of 21 out of 100 and keep his job, why would he even show up to work!? See, in the REAL world….you’d get fired! If you take a test and get a 21% that’s a failing grade! If you fail….you don’t get to move on…because….ummm you failed!  

 “Well…getting someone new in there, with No knowledge of how Congress works, doesn’t seem like a smart move to me.” Really…..really….so you are pleased with the state of our country? It is the current incumbent filled Congress that has gotten us to where we are today!

The so called “experienced politicians” have brought us to a 16 trillion and climbing deficit, federal budget and tax codes that favor special interests groups with the highest paid lobbyists, the fact that we’ll probably never get Social Security, over 1,700 departments of federal government, earmarks (a legislative provision that directs approved funds to be spent on specific projects-So basically an incumbent’s campaign receives money from a corporation or large business and in return votes a particular way to favor that corporation/large business’s agenda …dirty right…well it’s happening everyday!

Oh forget it…it’s an uphill battle…Congress will never vote themselves out of a job…..you might be right. So what do YOU do?

 

You get educated….does YOUR Congressman support Term Limits? If so…great….vote for them…if NOT…VOTE THEM OUT! It will start with WE the People!

 It may start small….. a simple grassroots movement…but this is something that MUST take place. For our Country’s future, for your kids future- we need men and women that are in Washington to serve and then go home…not stay….holding office is a JOB, it was never meant to be a CAREER! If we limit the time there, those that are elected to go to DC are on a mission -to make a difference, to get things done and then get out! There will no longer be hidden agenda’s; the intention will be for the betterment of the country!

 

Do your part and speak up! Demand Term Limits!

 

Motherhood

Well, it’s been almost 2weeks since I have written anything! My 8.5 month old son is getting his top teeth…teething is no fun ….requires lots more time spent with mom….cause moms make everything better.

With my mini hiatus, I found myself thinking over this last year and all that has happened….The biggest event for me was becoming a mom. What an incredible life changing experience! To be honest, it was a huge adjustment for me. I was a little cocky before my little boy arrived-I am one of seven kids and I was the second oldest, so growing up I pretty much helped raise my younger siblings. I was convinced I knew kids and I would be a pro instantly! Well……oh…well….was it all so new to me and for awhile I felt as though I was in over my head. With absolutely NO sleep (we’re talking 2 hours of sleep in a whole night at times!) for months and months, combo that with the inability to nap during the day, crazy hormone crashes, some post partum depression, and no longer working outside of the house….this was ALL so new to me and I felt like a train wreck!

Many people’s babies sleep fairly soon after birth, my son Bode…not so much! I remember a month or so after giving birth, walking like a zombie throughout our neighborhood and this other new mom stopped to say hi…I told her I was exhausted and she simply said “ Ya… so Haylee didn’t have that problem, she slept at night the day she came home from the hospital, so I can’t relate.” Really….really…(couldn’t she have lied to me)…Ahhhhh….I wanted to slap her! But I politely smiled and said “how nice.”
With new motherhood came complete surrender for me. I liked to do my own thing- at my own time -in my own way! My mother told me that when she was just a new mom of two, she had both children down for a nap and she was going to eat lunch…in peace. Shortly after she had fixed a sandwich and sat down, one of us kids started crying…it was then she said she made the decision to just “go with it.” It was the fighting against the ability to just “go with it” that caused frustration…so she made that choice and passed the knowledge onto me….thank God!

Now, I am getting more sleep, have a routine, my hormones have balanced out, and I have a little two-toothed constantly grinning companion by my side that has taught me more about myself in the last 8.5 months than I ever thought possible 😉

This last year I have learned to appreciate the little things, taking a shower, walking our little dog Romeo, going to the gym or a run, a quiet afternoon, a glass of wine in the late evening, a good story, a thought provoking conversation with my husband, a good debate….

But the most special part of my day is just after the sun sets, I take my little boy in my arms after he has been bathed and is all ready for bed. We head to his nursery and snuggle up in the rocking chair. Prayers are prayed and slowly he nurses to sleep. It is here I feel most at peace and a love so deep that it scares me. Although I have spent my whole day with the little guy, this is my time with him. There is no other place I’d rather be in the whole world than right there at that moment in time. Bode is a mover and a shaker…a go getter….a full of energy little guy, but not in this moment. In this moment Bode presses close to my heart and drifts to sleep and here is when all is well in the world….this is what matters -this is what is most important and this is a love that I never knew existed….it is here I know how much God loves me. It is here that I am reminded of how great God is and how beautiful life is.

So with the end of the year quickly approaching…I would say this year has been my hardest, most challenging, most vulnerable …… Best year yet.  

I know we have all been told to BE in the moment, motherhood gave me no choice- and I am eternally grateful.

Benghazi

Ahhhh to tackle the beast of Benghazi….dare I even try!?? No really I am so bothered by this whole thing….a major major….did I say ‘major’ cover up –with such little main stream media coverage!

So…..We’ve got 4 dead Americans, whose families are begging for the truth,  a clueless (or not) UN Ambassador –Rice- giving misleading info on talk shows, Secretary of State Clinton openly lying to the press, the head of CIA sleeping with anyone but his wife, a you tube video that took ALL the blame and now has nothing to do with the attack, and our president not admitting that it was a terrorist attack….

 But why….why not admit?? Why not say Yes, it was a terrorist attack?? The timeline below gives a run down of the events…I just provide highlights and some commentary and my reasoning as to why we were not told.

September 11th, 2012
4pm : The Attack on the Libyan Embassy occurs

6:07 p.m.: The State Department’s Operations Centersends an email to the White House, Pentagon, FBI and other government agencies that said Ansar al-Sharia has claimed credit for the attack on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.  

About 10:00 p.m.: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton issues a statement which in its entirety made reference to the anti-Muslim video.

Clinton: Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United Statesdeplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind.

 September 12th:

Obama makes a speech about the attack in Rose Garden, NEVER says TERRORIST ATTACK, He uses the term “act of terror” ….ummm an “act of terror” could be ANY violent crime, just turn on your evening news! Here is what he said: “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.”

Sept. 12: After his Rose Garden speech, Obama tapes an interview for “60 Minutes.” Obama says he didn’t use the word “terrorism” in his Rose Garden speech because “it’s too early to know exactly how this came about.”

Sept. 15: Obama discusses the Benghazi attack in his weekly address. He makes no mention of terror, terrorists or extremists. He does talk about the anti-Muslim film and “every angry mob” that it inspired in pockets of the Middle East.

Sept. 16: LibyaPresident Mohamed Magariaf says on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” that the attack on the U.S. consulate was planned months in advance. But Susan Rice, the U.S.ambassador to the United Nations, tells CBS News’ Bob Schieffer: “We do not have information at present that leads us to conclude that this was premeditated or preplanned.”

So this continuing denial on talk shows, to the press, and American people  continues for quite a while…but slowly and surely bits of info/truth are exposed-

Sept. 19: Matt Olsen, director of the NationalCounterterrorism Center, tells a Senate subcommittee that the four State Department officials in Benghazi “were killed in the course of a terrorist attack on our embassy.”

Sept. 20: Obama, at a town hall meeting, says “extremists” took advantage of the “natural protests” to the anti-Muslim video to attack the consulate in Benghazi. He does not call it a “terrorist attack.”

Ya….he’s still talking about the damn video!


Sept. 21: Sec Clinton Finally admits it was a terrorist attack!

 

Obama still denies “terrorist attack” for like another month! In the meantime….revelation that there was NO mob, and the video had nothing to do with the attack is admitted by White House.

October 24th : Emails are released exposing the white house knew it was a terrorist attack within 2 hours after the Attack.

Oct 26th:We learn that our CIA operatives were told to “stand down” when trying to help those who were under attack at the Embassy. Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S.consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens was, Woods disobeyed the order and went in to help those under attack, he died a hero.

Now…months later, the election is over and more and more of what really happened is being exposed….(Mind you…I did not include Obama’s partying with Jay-Z and Beyonce and his jaunt to Las Vegas to fundraise the day after the attack 🙂 )

So…..why Not tell us what happened when it happened???

Please….oh please don’t tell me -they kept us from the truth for our “own good”…or that it was to “protect” us in some way….no they didn’t tell us purely for Political gain…and for that reason we ALL should be outraged!!!

What I think happened and why is Petreaus (now “former” head of the CIA) in the spot light??

Why were the CIA operatives told to stand down, why didn’t they send help if they could have…..and they could have!!!!

Simply this-….more would have died and it would have been a BIGGER story, a story that COULD NOT be ignored till after the election, a story that COULD NOT be covered up.  It would expose the truth -that Al Qaeda is alive and thriving and that it is on the move…attacking us on the Anniversary of one of our most solemn days in history. Yes attacking America….The US Embassy in Libya is on US soil! If Al Qaeda is strong than Obama claiming their deterioration -would be a lie.

So where does Petreaus come into play…I believe he knew, and went with the video tape story because “they” knew about his affair….

But eventually somehow the affair was exposed, so the need for Petreaus to keep silent is no more, he steps down as CIA director and tells the truth…it was a terrorist attack!
I don’t know if we will ever be told what happened…because if we were told we’d be told we were lied to…lied to-to win an election.

But what is worse than all of this to me is that there are four dead Americans, and their families have yet to be told the truth. Past the politics, the lies, the saga, the soap opera of it all -there are four families that lost the ones they love and they deserve the truth.

Women and their vote for Obama

Well much of the loss that was taken last Tuesday relates to Women and their vote for Obama.

Why did so many women Vote for Obama…well just ask one of them…..

“Republican’s want to take away my rights as a woman”

“Republican’s want to take us back to the 1920’s!”
“Republican’s don’t want us to be able to do whatever we want to our bodies”

These are many of the responses I am getting from those that gave Obama an attaboy last week.

Are any of these statements true? Well the Mainstream Media would have you think so….but I am sorry ladies…these are simply falsehoods! “Vote with your lady smarts…not your lady parts” to quote Michelle Malkin.

 We MUST educate ourselves and not let Hollywood educate for us!

I personally think many (not all) women were scared into voting for Obama.

Sadly many women rely on Hollywood and the Mainstream Media as news sources-

We have little Hollywoodstarlets like Eva Longoria, Beyonce, Scarlet Johanson out there spreading blatant lies and women believe, instead of researching the truth!

  • Women were told “If you don’t vote for Obama women will die”-because they would no longer receive cancer screenings and mammograms.

Many of these falsehoods surrounded Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood DOES not provide mammograms-to prevent breast cancer, and the “prevention” offered by PP is a pamphlet on how to check for lumps, and then they refer you to a physician that does offer mammograms… Go ahead….walk into one and ask for a mammogram! Do…and then tell me what they say! This is a lie and there is no evidence to prove these services are provided at Planned Parenthood! PP is for contraceptives and abortion….to suggest otherwise is hear-say…

  • Women were simply told that Romney/Republicans were going to take away Planned Parenthood

Yes……Republicans wanted to stop the use of our TAX dollars being used to fund Planned Parenthood’s billion dollar empire and instead let it be privately funded. (So NO planned parenthood was not going away!)
Major corporations are currently giving to Planned Parenthood: Yahoo, Morgan Chase, Johnson and Johnson, eBay, GE, AT&T …..So the money will not stop being funneled to Planned Parenthood. (newsinfaith.com).

Republicans simply believe that the American People should not have to pay for someone’s abortion.

(By the way the same goes for Sesame Street…it would totally be privately funded…wouldn’t go anywhere…and our tax dollars would be used to help this broken economy)

I bet very few Women know that – Whitehouse Women Employees are currently being paid 18% less than the men….. Did you know that? And that’s ok with you???

Above everything look at how the truth about Benghazi is now coming out. We were promised “transparency” by Obama and all we have gotten by this horrendous scandal is lies….four Americans are dead…and we are being fed lies.

“Well all politicians lie”…..and I would ask you -what are you doing about that!??? It is OUR job to hold them responsible!

 We need more women educating themselves and speaking up and speaking out!

Very Easy Crock Pot dinner!

I love using the Crock Pot…it makes your home smell wonderful, is very easy to prepare a meal and the clean up is simple!
Last night I made a Creamy Chicken Chile over rice and it was great! I got the recipe from Pinterest…but I always change something (or almost everything) in most recipes I use, so below is what I made 🙂

1) Two chicken Breasts -cut and saute in 1/4cup water and 1/2 packet taco mix.
2) Then put in Crockpot
Add: Packet of Cream Cheese
         Can of Black beans (Rinsed)
         Can of Corn (rinsed)
         1/4 Onion…chopped finely
         1/2 cup to a Cup of Salsa-you can use Pace, (I used “Herdez) or any kind you have.
         Salt and Pepper to taste
         Tbsp Cumin
         Tbsp Chili Powder
3) Cook on low for 6hours
4) Serve over Rice, in a Tortilla or with a side of Tortilla Chips
5) Top with Sour Cream and cheese if you’d like!
