My Faith

I knew it was going to get crazy-wacky-zany out there but I didn’t know that it would happen while I was ‘fairly’ young.

There is so much hatred…such division…such anger out there that at times it makes me want to just pack up…head for Montana and live out my days on a farm….away from all the noise.

But I know I was born for such a time as this. God knew me before the foundation of the world. I am called to be here at this specific time in our world’s history…..it was not by accident that I am here and it is not accident that you are here either.

As I watch the news and I see the attack on our Constitution in several areas….I do know this….though the argument may be for the Constitution to evolve and change….the God breathed words found in the Bible do not and will not change.

We celebrate Easter in just a few days.

What is so awesome about Easter is that it is the ultimate picture of sacrifice and love. For God so loved the world that he gave. Jesus hung on that cross taking every sin of the world on his shoulders…he took it all…lust, greed, murder, sickness, disease, incest, molestation, rape, hypocrisy… the list is endless….and he took it for you and he took it for me. As he hung there on that tree, I believe he saw each one of our faces flash before his eyes……..

This world is changing. It is growing darker and darker….but when it’s dark out it’s easier to see a light. If you shined a light in the middle of the day…you wouldn’t see it as much….it’s in the darkness that light can shine bright. Deception is now our biggest enemy, good will appear bad and bad will appear good.

But….God will use you and me to step forward and speak up and speak out. It will not be easy….in fact it will be probably the hardest thing you’ll ever have to do, you’ll lose friends and even some family may turn away…but I will not let Jesus’ death on that cross be in vain. I will not be silent when evil tries to shut my mouth.

Jesus walked in love, he hung out with sinners, he defended the prostitute but after he defended the prostitute…he said “Go and sin NO More.”

To embrace sin is rejecting everything Jesus did for you on that cross…

Love the sinner not the sin.

Leading with a Filibuster

On Wednesday March 6th I watched a man stand up for the American people. I watched a man without political agenda, I watched a man do what was right with little or no support from either Republicans or Democrats.

Rand Paul took the Senate floor at 11:47am eastern time in protest of Obama’s nomination of John Brennan as the director of the CIA. Paul vowed to keep talking until the White House made clear whether the president had the right to use a drone to kill a UScitizen on USsoil without a conviction or a trial. Paul argued that a response from the president saying he doesn’t “intend to” or he hasn’t “yet” set off red flags to Paul. This is completely unconstitutional and clarification was in order! “Innocent until proven guilty” (whether one agrees or not) is the fundamental make-up of what our Constitutional right guarantees us. To tamper with this using unyielding power -is a form of monarchy and teeters on dictatorship.

Rand Paul demanded answers and after 13 exhausting hours of talking endlessly the filibuster ended.

On March 7th Attorney General Eric Holder replied by saying: “‘Does the President have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill an American not engaged in combat on American soil?’ The answer to that question is no.”

The answer of course is still unclear with many loopholes….

Many think that Rand Paul’s filibuster was a huge rant-with little accomplished. Today Donald Trump came out and said “I happen to feel that the filibuster did nothing,” Trump added “They got nothing out of it. There was really nothing gained by it. It was just a protest, and we need more than protests.”

I disagree with Trump. Protests are often the spark that ignites a change. What we as American citizens witnessed last Wednesday was a leader. A leader without some secret hidden motive, a leader without the backing of multiple lobbyists, a leader wanting answers that the American people ARE entitled to. Rand Paul took a stand for what was right. Now the media and several other news sources can call this whatever they want to….but I watched, and I saw a man that was defending the Constitution of the United States just like our forefathers did so many years ago.
If we do not defend the Constitution, that made this great nation what it is today, we will cease to exist…..

Just a mom

I met up with a girlfriend of mine yesterday who has two kids-a 3 year old little girl and a little boy about the same age as my son Bode. It was so great to just hear her talk about being a “mom”….

A “Mom”….What does that even mean? Surely it’s more than carrying a child for 9months, or giving birth….for after birth is really where the assignment begins….

I have heard many women say…”I am not ‘just’ a mom.” As if being “just a mom,” is some sort of negative stereotype.

Society has pressured us into filling our lives with so many things that we disregard the incredible overwhelming monumental task of raising another life.

We have been told that being “just a mom” can’t really fulfill you. Being “just a mom,” can’t really bring you happiness. We have been told that the mundane tasks of cleaning, cooking, laundry, baths and so forth are meaningless when in fact these trivial “chores” provide a simple sense of security to a child…..

Though my son Bode is not aware of the numerous responsibilities I set out to accomplish in a day he will be aware someday….because I now know the incredible sacrifice my mom made to being “just a mom” and with every fiber of my being…I am thankful.

The ability to make a house a home and a safe haven for your children is not something that should be snubbed but instead rejoiced over.

Being “just a mom” is giving yourself and all that you have to a life that will outlive you.

Being “just a mom” in its purest form is unconditional love.

Being “just a mom” is not abandoning your needs but embracing the needs of those you love most.

Being “just a mom” is sacrificing the now so that your child’s future does not have to pay a price.

Being “just a mom” provides stability and consistency in your child’s life…which in return creates a more stable and consistent adult.

Being “just a mom” is not a loss of identity it’s a title that should be worn proudly.

I believe if women begin to stand up and proudly say-“Yes I am “just a mom” and I am proud of it -that we would see a rise in history makers. I believe if the world had more women embracing the powerful unyielding influence a mother’s role plays in their child’s life we’d have many more children being leaders and not followers.

I am “just a mom” and to me that goes well beyond what the world says I am -for I know that being “just a mom” has long lasting impact well after I am dead and gone….

Children are a gift and if given this special gift….. being “just a mom” is fine by me…….

I am back :)

I know …I know…it’s been for ever…I  have had several people ask…why haven’t you written anything in your blog?? Well….I am excited and thrilled to announce that my husband and I are expecting another little bundle of joy-set to arrive early September!!!!

The last couple months have been spent in my pajamas laying on the living room floor as my little boy crawled around me thinking….”mom…why are you soooooo boring?”

To say I had little energy is a major understatement-I had NO energy! I even struggled to stay aware of current political events…and that’s not like me, and taking a shower was a major accomplishment! But ….I am back and feeling good!

So stay tuned…..

Speaking for those who cannot speak

1 abortion, in every 95 seconds -is performed at Planned Parenthood alone. That statistic is from last year….God knows what it’s climbed to. Planned Parenthood reported receiving a record $542 million in taxpayer support in 2012, a hefty increase in government funding! Today I read that we as tax payers are now funding 45% of Planned Parenthood’s budget. This is insane…why are we paying for this!????

If you believe in God than you believe that he created life. If God created life, than is it still your right to take it?

If life does not begin at conception than when does it become a “life” and how… oh how can anyone have a right to take a life?

If you want the baby than it’s a baby…but if it’s unwanted than it’s a “fetus” and must be terminated….does that make any sense to you!???

I believe that someday….our children or children’s children will look back on what we have done as a society in great mournful sadness. They will not be able to fathom the fact that we took life so candidly from those that had no voice, just as today we look back on our history of slavery in complete disgusted astonishment.

“Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” are also the rights of the unborn!

It’s my right as a woman to do what I want to my body…No…not when there is a baby growing inside you and yes…it’s a baby…let’s not call it anything else simply because it is hidden by a veil of skin.

It is your right to keep your pants on.

It is your right to use a form of birth control…hell the government will buy it for you!
It is your right to adopt.
It is your right to abstain
But it is NOT your right to take a life.

Let’s focus on the war of those who cannot speak for themselves instead of this politically charged and only hearsay war on women.

Oh but Roe v Wade will never be overturned…it’s not worth the fight….really…really…if we really have become so desensitized that protecting innocent life is no longer a concern…than we have lost all hope as a civilization……. for this is the whole point of our existence. (And by the way…both women in the Roe v Wade ruling are now pro-life.)

I personally will not give up on the unborn because to me…they ARE worth fighting for- they have to be!

If you voted for the candidate that supports the “right to choose” over “the right to life”….you are supporting the death of millions of babies each year. A vote FOR something is a vote AGAINST something else. There is no grey zone when it comes to life.

By the 5th week after conception the baby’s heart is taking shape

By the 10th week after conception the baby’s elbows and the arms are already working
By the 11th week after conception the baby has fingernails and if it’s a girl…her ovaries are forming.
By the 13th week after conception the baby’s vocal cords have developed and though you might not hear them….GOD DOES.

54,559,615 Million babies have been killed in the United Statesalone since 1973

The option of not having an opinion on this issue or picking a side is no longer available…you must choose and fight……

Choose Life.
