No to Establishment….geeez!

So I read this article by The Hill earlier today and thought….naahhh this can’t be true, or perhaps it’s the result of too much “Christmas Celebration wine” the night before, and I was “seeing things”….but no……no….this is for real and this….this is why I do what I do! That is…this is why I blog, write, post and do everything a ConservativeMomma of two toddlers can do to proclaim individual liberty and fight the Establishment at hand!

The article’s headline reads “ Romney tops 2016 GOP candidates in new poll” I mean are you kidding me…. so this was naturally my reaction: 

 And then when I read that Jeb Bush was right behind Romney  in this poll,  and I was nauseous, sick -totally queeezzy and this was my reaction:

…..for real….flu, stomach bug, not good people….not good!

 Folks, if this is who we put up to bat against Hillary or Elizabeth Warren of whatever she-wolf the Dems play…I am leaving the Republican Party…for real! Because these two guys are just as bad as a Democrat in office! They are Big Government, Common Core goons….and they do not portray Conservative principles! It’s like we WANT to lose! Seriously!

 Ughhh I don’t get it! Come on…we DO have some great people out there that could be serious contenders….(Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindal, Ben Carson) ok so I did or didn’t name your fave, but ANYONE is better than a Romney or Bush! The problem is getting past the Primaries and the big money Corps/Pacs, funding these dudes!

 That’s why we gotta speak up and speak out and not let the Establishment….ruin it all! We can win 2016 if we play a truly Conservative Candidate….let’s just play the right guy/gal! Geeeez, it’s not rocket science!

Flat Tax-The Best Tax!

 I got in an interesting conversation the other day about why we should have a Flat Tax…..

So I thought I’d share some of my thoughts 🙂

Our current tax system is called a Progressive Tax System, in that the tax rate increases as the taxable base amount increases. In other words, the more you make the more you are taxed.

I personally think we should get rid of the Progressive Tax all together and have a Flat Tax. A Flat Tax would be an established tax rate across the board. For example let’s say that the Flat Tax rate is set at 17%. This means that someone making 75,000 a year and someone making a Million a year both pay 17% of their income to the Federal Government for taxes. Hmmm well that’s not fair….because the Millionaire would be left with more money? Well the Millionaire is most likely creating jobs for others, this additional money in the pocket could allow them to provide additional jobs, (and if you haven’t noticed-people NEED jobs!) and this allocates for more spending-which in return is stimulating to the economy-which is desperately needed! (By the way, someone making 75k a year is paying over 20% of their income now, under the current Progressive Tax).

 Have you noticed, the gas prices falling….I am sure you have. I filled my car up the other day for a 1.96 a gallon and called my husband because I was so excited about it! That’s like a tax cut in itself, which is allowing people to have more money in their pocket! When the American people experience tax cuts they spend more money which benefits the economy. Having more money also allows many to save for the future! I know it sounds simple, almost too simple….but it really is easy to understand. It’s just gotten way to complex and sketchy, with people hiding money, having off shore accounts…etc!

 The top 1 percent gets out of all sorts of tax loopholes actually. Those making between $100k-500k a year in reality get hit the HARDEST by taxes! If you fall into this category, all you have to do is look at your paycheck and you find yourself regularly saying-“geeez, where is all my hard earned money is going…..oh I see it’s going to TAXES!”

Why do these people get hit the hardest, because they are making too much to get any tax breaks from the government-and they can’t afford to pay some financial genius to figure a way out of paying them, so they are stuck getting the brunt of the deal.

A Flat Tax would do away with all the loopholes, and exemptions, and it’d be a helluva lot easier filling your taxes each year!

I read this quote by Thomas Jefferson and found it soooo applicable to family gatherings, especially over the holidays:

 Many of us have families that totally agree with our religious viewpoints and political stances while many of us don’t. I have had too many debates that lead absolutely no where! The key is asking yourself, “is this person open to new thought and am I?” Lot’s of times I already know the answer is no, so I just simply “nod and smile.” When I find myself conversing with someone I totally disagree with but know debating them would be pointless, I learned to just nod and smile!  I have found that this simple move works in avoiding a blowout that ultimately leads to words being said you can’t take back, which trust me-has happened-resulting in….ummmm awkwardness!  So, just “nod and smile.” 😉

If you are lucky enough to get into an intellectual debate, ending in new innovative thought, without drama-awesome, and I wish I was there to join you!

 I agree with Jefferson words, in fact some friends that don’t see eye to eye with me, have challenged me to really evaluate on what I believe and why I believe it, only sharpening my views!

Don’t pull away from a friend because they don’t view things the way you do and remember if you get stuck in a “ahhh geeez, this is going nowhere” debate-just Nod and Smile! 😉

Or heck you can always try to intimidate them by getting all up in their business, like Gore does in this clip….ummmm awkward…..and Bush responds with a “nod and smile.” 😉

Can a Libertarian be Pro-Life?

I got in an interesting debate the other night with some of my siblings, which is of course the norm! If you are new to this blog, I often mention my family, I am one of seven kids and when we all go back home to visit -it gets a little crazy (just ask my husband)! My side of the family is much more vocal! We all love to drink wine, debate and it makes for a helluva party and a really fun environment….as long as no one has toooooo much wine, which has happened and that’s another story in itself! 😉

So as I have mentioned in previous posts via Facebook, my thoughts and political views have evolved the more and more I educate myself on the role of government and our founding fathers original intention. I have found…we have gotten somewhat OFF track! The role of government was designed to be limited, and if you haven’t looked around lately…the government is all up in our business…and what I have noticed is….they are extremely incompetent and worse…they have NO concept of monetary value-none! They are like a teenage shopaholic, that stole her momma’s credit card, loose in Nordstrom! They spend spend spend….with no consideration on the effect this will have on our future generations. We have never been here before people….we have never been this far in debt, we have never not lead as the world’s strongest economy and we have no idea what this results in years down the road!

All that ranting to say….I am not a huge fan of big government. No government would be insanity….small government/limited government-perfection! I have so much to say on the benefits of limited government but that will be saved for numerous blogs to come!

Anyway…that’s not what the debate was about, it was about whether or not a true Libertarian could be Pro life? I argued yes! Am I saying I am a Libertarian, no…But the more I study history and the original role of government-their doctrine is appealing. Am I pro-life-YES! That’s why I chose to argue that yes, a Libertarian can be pro-life!

Libertarians are all about individual liberty-you stay outta my business, I’ll stay outta yours, which I like…a lot! We can go into specifics on their stances in another post.

According to the Libertarian’s platform, one of their principles clearly states: “they (government) must not violate the rights of any individual: namely, (1) the right to life — accordingly we support the prohibition of the initiation of physical force against others;”

Now we can get all technical, but according to SCIENCE, Life begins at conception, therefore that life conceived (whether convenient or inconvenient to the one carrying that life) has those same rights as you or I! Furthermore, Libertarians “support the prohibition of initiation of physical force against others.” Ahhh geeez let’s see, if it is a life in the womb (and it is) any physical force (ummm abortion) against that LIFE is against their (libertarians) creed!

Ahhh but you’d argue, what about the one carrying the life, don’t they have their own individual rights? Yes, they do. They have the right to NOT have unprotected sex when a baby could easily be made -because that involves another INDIVIDUAL! It’s called responsibility! For example, casually having a loaded unsecured gun lying around your house with toddlers in it, is irresponsible! If something terrible were to happen, you would be at fault-LOCK it up, be safe! Same goes, for casual unprotected sex, be safe, their are consequences! If you aren’t safe, and you conceive a life….that LIFE now is entitled to the same rights as you and I-period, so get over yourself! You don’t want the responsibility, than keep your pants on…geeeez!

I’d also add there are numerous people who would gladly take that life you created! Adoption is an awesome choice!

That in a nutshell is my argument. I would love to hear yours! Let me know…..can a Libertarian be PRO-LIFE??

According to several news sources, North Korea’s Internet is down! This has happened within the last few hours! The White House and State Department have declined to say whether the US government is responsible. I have to say I am amused. I also rarely have anything positive to say when it comes to what the White House is up to but this made me smile 🙂

A couple weeks ago North Korean hackers hacked Sony Pictures, causing all sorts of drama! They also threatened all theaters that dared show the film “The Interview” starring Seth Rogan, because it pokes fun at Kim Jong Un-North Korea’s Dictator. So Sony pulled the picture which caused a lot of upset, from both political parties! Are we going to let North Koreans boss around….???

That’s why these recent events, are of course amusing 🙂
