House of Cards

 House of Cards

If you haven’t seen the show “House of Cards” on Netflix…you will still probably be able to relate to everything I am about to say…..

But we have all seen a structure constructed by a deck of cards….

This structure is unstable, because there is little to secure the foundation. A gust of wind, a loud noise and the structure will come tumbling down. So the shows title in itself depicts the instability of DC, but it goes further into showing the utter vile corruptness that has taken our country hostage.

When a common issue presents itself in life-finding the source will almost always resolve the problem.

Oh and if you don’t think our country is crumbling –you are living in a cave….literally ….so just go back in your little hole and continue to pretend everything is okay…

For those of us that know there’s a problem….well….let’s go to the source.

The Candidates
Yep…the guys that run for office, get elected, and are currently part of this horrific tragedy.
 So…. it is simple really

If the people that are holding offices in this position are part of the problem…why are we re-electing them and sending them back to DC?

Like in the show House of Cards……it is a political minefield in Washington….if you don’t know how to play -you get destroyed….because most… are weak.

I am not saying by any means to partake in the criminal behavior, quite the opposite actually.

I am saying we have to send our strongest competitors. We have to send people to DC that are leaders. They are able to debate, they are able to take a punch and get back up, and they are able to deny immoralities’ luring kiss. They can stand toe to toe with adversity and not waiver. They are not bought by lobbyists, controlled by super pacs, or in need of the limelight. They serve because they love this country and most importantly they are willing and find it crucial to defend the Constitution at all costs.

I don’t care how many committee chairs they sat on, I don’t care how looooong they have been in the game, I don’t care!

I don’t want to send a politician to Washington….I want to send a leader ….a fighter.

I want someone who knows how to solve problems and not create them…

Is that too much to ask….???

Perhaps….huh….

Colorado-Senate2014 -Who gets your vote?

Who gets your vote?

Yes, the Colorado Senatorial race for United States Congress is not that far off actually….the Primary race for the GOP candidate is coming up in June and then in November the General election against Mark Udall.

The front runner for the GOP is Weld County’s district attorney Ken Buck, who I had the opportunity to meet a couple months ago.

Many thought that Ken Buck lost (by only 2percentage points) because he didn’t show his caring softer side, he lacked the votes from women. So in response- a video series called “Ken Cares” is being released over the next few months.
The women vote is needed to win this election.
Watch below and let me know your thoughts…..does this influence your vote?

She’s one in seven billon.

Too often we celebrate those that have contributed little and the ones that have contributed so greatly-go unnoticed. I want to take a moment to introduce you to one of the most admirable woman I know.
Last night, I celebrated the birthday of the most incredible, amazing, strong, creative, God fearing, conservative woman I know-my mother.
I never really understood the role of a mother until I became one. I knew it entailed a lot of work and sacrifice but I really hadn’t a clue.
There are few women in this world that I whole heartedly admire and my mother abides at the very top.
I am one of seven children. Number two in the ranking order…but never once did I feel like a number.
My mother is the most real and genuine person I have ever known. She is the same person in public that she is behind closed doors.
She can make anything from scratch when cooking, sew, paint elaborate murals, landscape, lay a brick driveway, put up a fence, build a pond, and stay up all night in prayer time and time again.
When I was growing up, I’d come downstairs and she’d have a coffee in one hand and her bible in the other. She has always taught me -that you can’t build your faith in the midst of a storm-you have got to build your faith when the waters are calm.
My mother always was available to talk to-I remember in high school and college having ‘drama’ and I was able to talk freely with her-no judgments-
My mother exudes a natural beauty, her hair dark and so are her eyes. She has the ability to discern a persons intentions before they can utter a word. She is honest. She cannot tell a lie, so much so that I knew the truth about wonderful ole St. Nick at a very young age cause truth was more important to her than anything. There was no magic missed at Christmas for me because she told the most magical story to us all in her daily walk-the powerful redeeming true story of Jesus.
My mother has been in the hospital room for both of my children’s births. She is a calming force that gave me strength when I felt like I had none left.
My mom has never been a ‘chatty cathy’ or surrounded herself with acquaintances to avoid loneliness. She has no fear of silence and has taught me to be still in the chaos of life.
She has never sought the world for approval or needed reassurance from the crowd.
There is no hidden agenda with my mom. What you see is what you get.
My mother believes that every human life is valuable. She sees beauty in the ugly and I aspire to make her proud.
I love her with all my heart and this world is a better place with her in it.
I truly believe we will be surprised when we get to heaven on who is awarded greatness in the eyes of our  Father in heaven….and after all, isn’t that what it’s all about.

A brief step away from the drama :)

Taking a brief moment away from the drama of this world -to show you what I have been up to this last week!
So we moved five months ago -the same day that I went into labor with our second baby-and I have been seriously meaning to paint our kitchen cabinets-they needed a makeover!
Of course the every day demands of being a momma can prevent this from occurring! So during naps and a few late nights-with wine in hand and a paintbrush in the other -I got the job done! 🙂
(almost….I still have a few spots left but that majority of it is in the bag!)
I won’t lie though…this was a pain in my arse!
I used Annie Sloan’s “old white” (2 coats) chalk paint-amazing!
I used Annie Sloan’s clear wax (2 coats) to finish and then antiqued with Annie Sloan’s dark wax.
Now to painting the kitchen…..that can wait a week ……or make it two 🙂

Let that Life have the CHOICE of Life

I am disturbed. I saw this on a link today and I was left speechless for a moment-which is yes, I know…rare…..
So the president of Planned Parenthood, thinks women need abortions for Valentines day…no joke, this is for real. Went to her twitter page and it’s legit.
I want to know why anyone thinks this is okay…
Like….having an abortion is just like grabbing a box of chocolates or flowers…
I mean seriously…seriously???
This is disgusting and disturbing.
My right, my choice, my body….yada yada yada…

But you see this women “empowerment” stuff is not empowering at all…it ‘s crippling. This choice that so many women advocate for is concealing the truth of a life ended. A life the world will never know…

With all this false sense of “I am woman hear me roar” lurks truth and the forever what if…..
What if these lives that are taken so casually are world changers?
They could have developed the cure for cancer, the cure for aids, been president of the United States-one that unites and does not divide, solved world hunger, cured Alzheimer’s disease, saved a kid from a burning building, stopped a terrorist attack, or simply had a family and raised a couple of kids with their spouse and tasted pure love.
We have no clue what the lives that have been snuffed out in the womb would have been, could have been….
Cecile Richards the president of planned Parenthood suggested having an abortion is a typical everyday occurrence at a dr’s appointment, like getting a breast exam or pap smear…
Let’s be clear….this occurrence is a life ENDING procedure. This occurrence not only ends a life but it takes life from the world. A world that might have forever been altered by that life’s existence.
The life growing inside the sacred safe sanctuary of the womb…is a person, a life….and quite possibly a world changer.
Let that life have the CHOICE of LIFE.
