Amendment 64-Marijuana??

So, I am sitting here this windy Thursday afternoon, cup of coffee in hand, Bode’s asleep and I have a moment to look over just what we are voting on in regards to the November 6th election.
With all the furry over who will be the next president I haven’t given much thought to “who/what” else is on the ballot. After looking it over Amendment 64, has got me thinking…..

  Summary (Votesmart.org)
An amendment to the Colorado constitution concerning marijuana, and, in connection therewith, providing for the regulation of marijuana; permitting a person twenty-one years of age or older to consume or possess limited amounts of marijuana; providing for the licensing of cultivation facilities, product manufacturing facilities, testing facilities, and retail stores; permitting local governments to regulate or prohibit such facilities; requiring the general assembly to enact an excise tax to be levied upon wholesale sales of marijuana; requiring that the first $40 million in revenue raised annually by such tax be credited to the public school capital construction assistance fund; and requiring the general assembly to enact legislation governing the cultivation, processing, and sale of industrial hemp.

I am leaning towards “yes”….I really think the tax alone could help our economy. I never have been one to entertain mary jane :/ but from a purely economically standpoint…it makes sense…thoughts?

Quick and Easy Dinner

I made this for dinner tonight “Crockpot Mac n’ Cheese” my husband wasn’t feeling so good either and had seconds! It’s good especially on a colder day!

I did change a couple things though-
1) Added one can of Cream of Chicken soup instead of evaporated milk
2) Added some extra seasonings too-

  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp Oregano, 1/2 tsp
  • Onion Poder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • I always add more cheese too, ya can’t have too much 🙂
  • salt and pepper.

Have a say

When I look at my little 7 month old boy Bode, he has no worries or concerns…nothing that he stresses over-other than a poopy diaper, he simply trusts that I will take care of him and as he drifts to sleep at night without a care in the world….all is safe.

My job now as a mom, is to protect Bode at all costs and yes…that means making the right decisions today in hope for a brighter tomorrow. After my son was born in March, my concern for our country, the economy, our future as a nation became a major concern for me. As a kid we have no clue who is making the decisions for us and we really don’t care. But believe it or not, Capitol Hill plays a major role in my tiny little individual life and what they decide today…effects my child’s future.

When my father ran for United States Congress back in June…I had no clue what I would encounter….to say “ugly” would not be able to describe what our family went through. I could have shied away from the whole thing, simply said “politics” aren’t for me….but that would be giving in and I can’t….because I love my son too much.

This blog will speak on political issues, you at times might disagree…but that’s ok….what’s not ok is not caring….care!
