America, what has happened to us?

It is getting nuts out there. The hate is tangible. It’s risen to level of furry that can’t be measured. The division breaks my heart. We are supposed to be the United States of America. We are supposed to see each other as human beings instead of what political affiliation we hold.

I, like most -have seen the footage of an elected member of Congress telling constituents to get in the face of Trump Cabinet members and harass them in public places. These cabinet members have families, they have grand-kids, they have spouses. What scared me more than Maxine Waters telling people to torment Trump Cabinet Members, was the cheering she received from the crowd.

On June 14, 2017 -a shooter descended on a baseball practice in Alexandria Virginia, where Republican members of Congress were practicing for a Congressional Baseball Game for Charity. Four people were shot -one being Congressman Steve Scalise, who was left in critical condition and almost died. The shooter was a left wing activist who hated Trump. He sadly adhered to the rhetoric spewed by Hollywood, the Mainstream media and other left wing commentators and late night T.V. Hosts.

The Media, and individuals like Maxine Waters, are stirring up a cauldron of hate and violence. To be clear, encouraging bullying, and persecution of people that disagree with you IS ANTI American. It is insane to me that Waters was not heavily denounced for her language of violence by Democrat Leadership. Is this seriously now the platform of the Democrat Party? We as Americans are supposed to celebrate our differences. We should feel liberated to be different, and not experience humiliation and violence because we disagree on policies. Healthy debate is good, but what we are witnessing now is evil.

Our contrasting ideologies are what make us who we are as a country. Our uniqueness as a nation (up until this point) has always been how we are able to tolerate those who are different.  We have not progressed, we have regressed as a Country. The open mistreatment of Trump supporters in 2018 is abhorrent. I know too many that are terrified to wear a MAGA Tee-Shirt or hat, and they can’t put a Trump/Pence bumper sticker on their car because they know their car would be vandalized. Now Americans are kicking people out of restaurants and movie theaters because they support the President -this is insane! So insane that I shot this video last week:

What is my response to the open mistreatment of Trump supporters? Walk in Love. I honestly mean this. Nothing is more powerful than love -Nothing. Real love, not the kind that Hollywood portrays but the love that only Jesus can give. It is described here:

1 Corinthians 13 New International Version (NIV)

13 If I speak in the tongues^[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. ² If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. ³ If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,^[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ⁵ It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ⁶ Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. ⁷ It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Don’t return the hate with hate. That will give the Media and the left just what they want. Love. It’s hard to do but it is what we NEED to do. When you love someone you also PRAY for that someone. Find people that will pray with you -I do. Pray for our country. Pray for our President, and pray that those who are deceived would begin to see the truth. There is power in prayer, it can and will defeat the darkness.

Lastly –vote! On November 6 of this year is the Midterm election. Your voice is your vote. Show up to the polls and let your response to this hateful rhetoric be done by casting your ballot.
