Ummmm….so….these people vote….

This is why I do what I do….man, if I could reach just one of these students….get them to think…really think why they believe what they believe and then have them come to the realization that….they are in fact “uninformed”….and then get them informed-it’s a win in my book….a big win!

I’ll admit-I honestly laughed out loud when I heard one of the students say “Benghazi” is one of Hillary’s BEST accomplishments!”

I am setting out with new goals, a new vision on reaching people just like the ones in the video below….all is not lost, if anything this should cause everyone of us to speak up, speak out and enlighten a generation that has yet to see the light! Because they vote….let’s get them to be informed voters!

I have hope

Last Tuesday evening I attended my GOP Organizational meeting……I was kinda skeptical….because I had talked to two other family members who didn’t enjoy there’s so much. My younger sister said she literally walked into a nursing home at hers (no offense to those in nursing homes) but my sister said she was the youngest one there by about 30 years! My dad’s county is having a helluva hard time being open to change, hearing new ideas, welcoming new people, embracing all walks of life….they are perfectly fine with average….they have no desire to be exceptional or welcome those who are exceptional.

So hey…..I’ll admit, I was like a little bit of a cynic at the beginning of Tuesday’s meeting.

What happened though at my organizational meeting gave me hope. We elected a chairman that had not been part of the poltical hoopla! Now he has done some things to promote the Conservative cause-but he’s not part of that insider click….which is so refreshing! I’ll admit, I was scared as hell, when he spoke at a meeting I was at a month ago, and a women in the audience yelled out “I don’t know you, I have never seen you, how do I know what you stand for!?” Ughhhhh when I heard that I wanted to run over to that woman and say: “YOU are part of the problem! You don’t want anything new and that’s why we keep losing elections!” But…..I held my tongue 😉 So…..I didn’t think this guy stood a chance….and I was totally wrong!!! We got a new guy at the helm and I am excited. We also elected a young millenial as our county treasurer, a grass roots Conservative as our Secretary and an ex-Californian mother of two as our Vice chair!

I was given a sense of change is coming….a good change…..a change for the better….a change and call for returning to our roots and electing the best person for the job!

Ya see…..I have watched candidates in other counties in other elections….lose because they were new or different. They had not put in enough volunteer hours at the phone banks, they hadn’t walked enough precincts, they hadn’t mailed out enough envelopes, they hadn’t served on enough campaigns…..they hadn’t “earned” their spot.

I think this whole idea of “earning” a spot has created this career politician mentality. These people that earn their spots have been part of the political class for years! They become so immersed that they lose touch with the small businessman, the single mom working two jobs, the young millenials….these people form their groups, and if you aren’t part of the group-then you don’t stand a chance at getting elected into anything……ya it’s a flash back to high school!

I didn’t see this from my county though. I was so proud and excited when I left my meeting on Tuesday, because the right people were elected….not those that expected to be elected because they had “earned” it.

I grew up with a father that worked harder than anyone I had every known. He raised seven children with my mother, he has put all his children through college, he has started businesses, he has taken risks, he has always been there when I needed a shoulder to cry on, he’s coached little leagues, he’s cheered me on in every thing I have set out to accomplish, he is the definition of the capitalism dream, he has honored God in every area of his life and never held a political office, not because he’s never ran for office but because …..in his county….you have to “earn” it.

I am just glad I live in a county that is waking up. My hope and prayer is that other counties in the country begin to wake up! That the permanent political class is ousted and that we begin electing citizens of the people and for the people. That we return to our roots of true conservatism and the BEST man or woman is elected to serve-this is what our forefathers intended.

Tuesday, gave me that hope.

If the Church wasn’t so silent….

I have noticed something that goes far and wide, it is silence at injustice -the inability to speak up and speak out against it. This silence is most loudly heard in the church. While many gather on Sunday mornings to worship and hear a cozy “feel good” message-there is no truth being uttered from the pulpit. Never would a pastor dare to speak about social issues or endorse a particular candidate-they’d lose their 501C3 (non-profit) status. But, I think this is the very reason why we see so much ugly in the world today.

Now let me be clear, I am a supporter of the separation of church and state. All throughout history time and time again-the church was found to be corrupt when influenced by the state and at times the two were as one. Declaring a “master” religion, Monarch’s corruptly influencing the church and it’s message, propaganda, the misuse of funds….it was a mess! The government should lack all authority when it comes to an individual’s conscience. The liberty of conscience and individual thought must not be infringed upon.

I get people don’t want to go to church and hear what side of the political aisle their pastor is on….but I personally think they should know! I think that people have become so “gray” in their thinking that they have no radar in deciphering black from white, right from wrong and this….this is a pastor’s role! Making it clearly obvious what is right and what is wrong through their teachings

Simple hearing a pastors views on social and political issues, I believe does not infringe on our Constitutional rights nor does it impede on our own individual rights. It rather challenges thought. The separation of church and state, should not prevent free thinking. No one is forcing one to vote a particular way, or pushing one to adhere to what is being preached from the pulpit….one is still able to choose for themselves what is right and wrong. I am simply advocating….that pastors should be speaking out on these issues, especially ones that directly correlate to a biblical truth of right and wrong…..because if you haven’t noticed it’s getting NUTS out here!!

For example-Supporting abortion….not something Jesus would support, stating this from the pulpit would be the right thing to do, so they should SAY SOMETHING!!

Addressing the enthrallment of misogynistic movies that are popular in our culture is not something Jesus would support, so pastors SAY SOMETHING!

Supporting any leader that does not stand with Israel, when it is clear in scripture that they are God’s chosen people, should be talked about from the pulpit-so SAY SOMETHING!

Supporting any candidate who sleeps around or can’t keep it in their pants-not something Jesus would support, so SAY SOMETHING!

Supporting any legislation that infringes upon individual freedom-which Jesus is ALL about-freedom, that’s what he died for, for us to be FREE in Christ! Ummmmm….He’s all about Freedom…..so SAY SOMETHING!

For the love….open up your Bibles pastors. I am not a pastor. I am not called to be a pastor….but if you are a pastor…it’s time to STEP IT UP!

“Oh but people will leave the church,” “we don’t want to offend,” “We won’t be tax exempt anymore,” “People will stop giving.” This is where your much talked about “Faith” really comes into play….

Church is to be a place of Truth. Truth hurts, it’s not fun to hear, it’s even uncomfortable at times….but truth-sets people free and that is your role! That’s it! Speak TRUTH….no matter how uncomfortable it might be! I think of the apostle Paul, being stoned, and held in prison-that wasn’t comfortable, I think of Peter-being hung upside down on a cross-not comfortable, I think of Stephen being stoned to death-not comfortable…..and I think of Jesus being crucified….he wasn’t crucified because he preached “lovey dovey” messages…..he was crucified because he spoke the truth…..

I believe that our country would not be in the condition it is in, if the church wasn’t so silent…..

so Say Something!

Hmmmm perhaps an intervention is needed….

I honestly get a kick out people who want MORE government. I then simply express the complete dysfunctionalism produced by these government run agencies and their reply is always the same “these poorly ran departments are just lacking funds!” And their answer-throw more money at them! Who cares if we are 18 trillion in debt….just give em more money! My reply…..”would you give more money to someone who was 18 trillion in debt?”

Always go to the source. Where are our tax dollars going? It’s not that we are lacking funding, we are lacking the intelligence on WHERE we fund. When you research ways the government wastes your money you’ll find gross incompetence!

For example according to forbes.com these are just a few of the many ways the government wasted your money last year:

$856,000 of our tax dollars was used to train mountain lions to run on a treadmill in order to measure the energy consumption of the cats’ hunting techniques

$820,000 to determine the impact of public breastfeeding on the rate of car accidents at crowded intersections.

$371,000 to study if mothers loved their dogs as much as their own kids by studying the way their brains responded to pictures of both.

$484,000 to study whether “drunk recall” of information learned while intoxicating is a real phenomenon, as part of a program titled “E=MC hammered.

I could go on and on…..

Hmmmm perhaps an intervention might be needed…..
